Sam Astra is the solo project of songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Samuel Ashkenazy. Born in Seattle and now based in Los Angeles, Sam began writing songs at 10 and performing original music live by 13.

At 15, he formed the band Foxy Apollo, releasing two LPs and over 20 songs between 2019 and 2024, and touring extensively throughout the West Coast. After nearly a decade with Foxy Apollo, Sam moved to Los Angeles to launch Sam Astra, a new chapter showcasing his unique blend of funk, rock, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, pop, and blues.

In 2025, Sam Astra released his first two singles, Balance and Nowhere, and has already performed in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland, with more music and shows on the way. Combining heartfelt storytelling, a genre-defying sound, and a love for both music and visuals, Sam Astra crafts immersive experiences that resonate deeply with listeners.
